A taste that stay
Will you go like the smoke,
Fading away as the sun starts to set?
Or will you stay like the taste on my lips,
A memory wrapped in the warmth of your kiss?
You drift through my thoughts like a soft, stolen tune,
Here for a moment, then lost far too soon.
But pieces of you, so gentle, remain,
Like perfume that dances in night’s quiet rain.
If you’re only a whisper the wind chose to send,
I’ll chase every echo, again and again.
But I long for the day you choose to reside,
A flame that will burn through each morning’s first light.
